<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for enzymatically resolving a mixture of enantiomers of an α-substituted carboxylic acid or an ester or thioester thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The mixture of the R- and S-enantiomers of the α-alkyl carboxylic acid, α-halogeno carboxylic acid, or the like, or an ester or thioester thereof, useful in fields of medicine manufacture and agrochemicals is resolved by using a Carica papaya lipase as a biocatalyst in combination with an organic base carried on an anion exchange resin carrier, and an organic solvent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
