PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus excellent in latent image reproducibility by keeping toner holding force on a recording material or an intermediate transfer body strong so that blur may be prevented. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an image carrier 1 on which a toner image is formed and carried, a belt member 2 circularly conveyed while abutting on the image carrier 1, and a transfer means 4 transferring the toner image on the image carrier 1 to the belt member 2 or the recording material 3 held on the belt member 2.
