<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a brushless DC motor which stably performs switching to a sensorless driving mode by preventing an excessive current from being supplied to the brushless DC motor at the initial starting stage of the brushless DC motor. <P>SOLUTION: A phase current is phase-converted at a predetermined phase conversion point during the synchronous acceleration of the brushless DC motor. A phase current application point is detected when the magnitude of the phase current supplied to the brushless DC motor exceeds a preset value, and a voltage application point to a stator winding for the rotational position of a rotor is controlled on the basis of a time from the phase conversion point to the phase current application point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
