PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce the operational burdens needed for updating a plurality of databases of different configurations prepared to achieve different functions and for maintaining the consistency thereof and to prevent destruction of the consistency due to operating errors. SOLUTION: A system management device 105 implements a rollback process for information in order to synchronize a document management DB 102 with a document storage location collation DB 104, the process including obtaining information showing the hierarchical structure of the document management DB 102 from a document management device 101, variably displaying the hierarchical relationship of the hierarchical structure, retaining changes in the hierarchical relationship one by one as a history, requesting the document management device 101 to change the hierarchical structure of the document management DB 102 on the basis of the history of hierarchical changes retained, requesting an external document storage device 103 to change the document storage location collation DB 104 to synchronize the document management DB 102 with the document storage location collation DB 104, and, when the request to change either of the DBs is rejected, restoring information in both DBs to its original state before the requests.
