PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device without a counter weight capable of preventing twist caused in a machine base and simplifying a structure of the machine base. SOLUTION: This elevator device without the counter weight is provided with a car elevating and lowering in an elevator shaft, a main rope suspending the car, a pair of guide rails for car arranged on both sides of the car to guide the car, the machine base provided across the pair of guide rails for car, a deflector wheel provided turnably on the machine base and arranging a rope channel in a plan view around which the main rope is wrapped on a straight line connecting the pair of guide rails for car, and a hoisting machine provided on the machine base and having a driving sheave arranging the rope channel in a plane view around which the main rope is wrapped on the straight line connecting the pair of guide rails for car.
