PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge controller for a bucket elevator capable of automatically opening and closing a charging port of an elevator casing in accordance with travel of a bucket by a very simple mechanism, reducing the number of parts, dispensing with a guide for opening and closing, and charging fixed amount into the bucket irrespective of simple mechanism without causing a problem that opening and closing operation is obstructed by a conveyance object charged into the bucket. SOLUTION: A shielding plate 7 serving also as a chute opened and closed by engaging with and leaving from the rising bucket 4 is mounted in the charging port 2 of the elevator casing 1. This shielding plate 7 serving also as the chute functions as the chute for opening the charging port 2 by holding inclined attitude for the charging port 2 and guiding a conveyance object from the charging port 2 into the bucket 4 usually and functions as the shielding plate closing the charging port 2 to shut off the conveyance object by lifting due to rise of the bucket 4 in which the conveyance object is charged.
