PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body structure of a railway vehicle and its manufacturing method which can improve the workability of assembly and assure an enough rigidity. SOLUTION: A door block 10 and a window block 12 of the railway vehicle structure 1 are connected to each other in a state that a connection piece 10a on the door side and a connection piece 12a on the window side are abutted. Since, each of the connection pieces 10a, 12a can be functioned as-is as a vertical frame extending at the connection between the door block 10 and the window block 12. the workability of the assembly of the railway vehicle structure 1 is made favorable, and its rigidity in the up-and-down directions can be sufficiently secured. Then, a door part 14 and pockets 25a, 25b of the railway vehicle structure 1 are modularized by the door block 10, and a window part 26 is modularized by the window block 12. As a result, side structures of various types 4 can be easily manufactured by increasing or decreasing the number of locations of the door block 10 and the window block 12.
