Capture substrate (A) for collecting airborne microorganisms has a surface made entirely, or at least mainly, of moisture-retaining glass and/or glass-ceramic, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) bioindicator for qualitative or quantitative analysis of airborne microorganisms that includes (A); and (2) method for either integrative, non-specific or selective collection of airborne microorganisms using (A).
