A direct drive comprises a housing (21) with an outer stator (22) and hollow shaft inner rotor (25) separated by an air gap and with the rotor being fixed to a drive shaft (26) with a housing bearing. A turning angle sender (31) is fixed to the drive shaft in a recess at an end of the shaft.
