The device has a distributing unit (M) including a case with three chambers (C1-C3) and a valve moving between three positions. Orifices (O12, O23) between the chambers (C1, C2, C3) are closed in closing positions, in order to force exhaust gas to pass through a heat exchanger (22) and to prevent gas re-circulation, respectively. The orifices are opened to deviate gas towards the exchanger in an intermediate opening position.
