PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide covered absorbent cotton to be applied to a wound at the time of an operation to absorb blood and body fluid by covering absorbent cotton with a covering material, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The absorbent cotton 20 in a rectangular sheet shape is covered by wrapping the opposing two sides of the absorbent cotton from the outer side with a polyethylene film 30 and vertically piling up the end parts 30a of the film on one side surface of the absorbent cotton 20. The vertically piled-up film end parts 30a are thermally welded with each other, the polyethylene films 30c adjacent to two sides 20b orthogonal to the opposing two sides of the absorbent cotton are thermally welded with each other, four sides of the absorbent cotton are sealed and the entire surface is covered with the polyethylene film.
