PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unnecessary program management system for displaying the list of unnecessary jobs or programs stored in a disk. SOLUTION: Job hierarchy information 8 is generated from the start job information of a start information management disk 1 such as a menu and start job program information 7 of a job source management disk 2, and a start program list and a start job list are generated from the job hierarchy information 8. Those of the start programs stored in the program source management disk 3 which are not included in a start program list 9 are defined as unnecessary programs so that an unnecessary program list 10 can be generated. Those of the start jobs stored in the job source management disk 2 which are not included in the start job list 11 are defined as unnecessary jobs so that an unnecessary job list 12 can be generated.
