发明名称 PROJECTION IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the light use efficiency by reducing a diameter of a luminous flux made incident on a rotating color filter to shorten a spoke time in a projection image display device having a one-chip micromirror display device optical system. SOLUTION: A composite reflection mirror provided with a first reflection mirror 1a having an ellipsoid and a second reflection mirror 1b which is deposed in a light-going-direction side of the first reflection mirror and has a spherical surface is used as a reflection mirror for use in a light source 2 which radiates white light. Reflected light from the composite reflection mirror converges on a farther focus of the first reflection mirror 1a to form a light spot on a rotating color filter deposed in the vicinity of this focus. Thus the diameter of the light spot formed on the rotating color filter 4 can be reduced, and the spoke time when a micromirror display device 8 is turned off can be shortened.
