PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection lens apparatus capable of enhancing contrast, without making a projected image dark. SOLUTION: By arranging diaphragm plates 31a and 31b in the optical axis direction, stray light not shielded by the diaphragm plate 31a is shielded by the diaphragm plate 31b, then, such a failure is prevented that the stray light comes into the projected image, and the contrast of the projected image is enhanced. By forming the diaphragm plates 31a and 31b to nearly the equal shape and arranging them in an overlapped state in the optical axis direction; the projected light passing through the diaphragm plate 31a is not shielded by the diaphragm 31b, failures such that the projected light is shielded more than is necessary, and the projected image becomes dark are prevented.
