<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article management system capable of easily recognizing that an article is stored in an improper position. <P>SOLUTION: Identification information of an article 2 stored in an RF tag of the article 2 stored in a storage part 3a is acquired through the communication of a communication unit 5, and it is determined whether or not the storage part 3a in which the article 2 acquiring identification information is actually stored is matched with the storage part 3a indicated by storage information stored in a storage position storage unit. If the storage part 3a in which the article 2 is actually stored is not matched with the storage part 3a indicated by storage information stored in the storage position storage unit, the mismatching is informed.
