PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic levitation motor that is excellent in controllability and that achieves further miniaturization and weight reduction. SOLUTION: A rotor 1 is supported by the magnetic force in the axis-of-rotation and radial directions in a non-contact manner with magnet bearings 2, 3 consisting of four pieces each of electromagnets arranged at both ends of the axis-of-rotation direction. Stator 4 that gives the rotor 1 a rotational drive force is arranged between the magnet bearings 2, 3 in such a way as to surround the central portion of the axis-of-rotation direction of the rotor 1. Permanent magnets 5, 6 that supply bias magnetic flux to the magnet bearings are inserted between the magnet bearings 2, 3 and the stator 4. The diameter of the central portion 16c of the rotor 1, to which the rotational drive force is given by the stator 4, is set smaller than that of both ends 16a, 16b of the rotor 1 supported with the magnet bearings 2, 3.
