PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sintered ores capable of controlling the calorific value of gas generated in a blast furnace without depending on the fuel ratio in the blast furnace, and to provide a blast furnace control method. SOLUTION: The sintered ores obtained by being fired with an endless movement grate type sintering machine, and the ones subjected to preliminary reduction to a reduction rate in the range of 20 to <30% in the firing stage, and the ones subjected to preliminary reduction to a reduction rate in the range of 30 to <90% in the firing stage are used, and the preliminary reduction ratio in the firing stage of the sintered ores inserted into a blast furnace is controlled to 20 to <90%, thus the calorific value of blast furnace gas is controlled.
