PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for concept acquisition for acquiring a new concept based on information obtained from the outside world and knowledge stored in the device, and a robotic unit moving based on a concept and a movement control method thereof. SOLUTION: Based on attribute information showing the characteristic of a person's face inputted from a face recognition device 42 and the personal ID thereof or a text sentence inputted from a voice recognition unit 44, a positive example or a negative example is generated by a Fact generator 45, and a target concept is determined by a target concept determination unit 47 based on the text sentence inputted from the voice recognition unit 44. A new concept is acquired in reference to a background knowledge database 50 from the positive and negative examples generated by the Fact generator 45 and the target concept determined by the target concept determination unit 47.
