PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding resin composition having a low water absorbency, and excellent in dimensional stability and water-resistant strength, and a molding material containing the molding resin composition. SOLUTION: This molding resin composition containing (A) a novolac type phenol resin, (B) a solid resol type phenol resin and (C) a silane-coupling agent is characterized by having 50-150 mm flow distance prescribed in the ISO-8619 of the molding resin composition, and the molding material is characterized by containing the molding resin composition and a filler.
