<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for supporting a pinion shaft by using a ball bearing instead of a tapered roller bearing so as to improve fuel consumption, and achieve compactness. <P>SOLUTION: For a rolling bearing 5, a double-row angular ball bearing comprising a pair of a right and a left inner rings 11 and 12, a single outer ring 13, and two rows of balls 14 and 15 disposed between the inner rings 11 and 12 and the outer ring 13 is used.
