<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electric hydraulic power steering device for a vehicle capable of improving fuel economy without deteriorating steering property by assisting an operation of a steering wheel. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises a steering mechanism 1 steering a steering wheel in a steering direction, an electric hydraulic pump 22 driving a motor 22b as a drive source, a piston mechanism 30 assisting the steering mechanism in the steering direction, a hydraulic circuit 34 generating an assist force according to steering of the steering mechanism, and a control unit 37 controlling the motor based on output signals of a vehicle speed sensor 38, a torque sensor 39, and a steering angle sensor 40.
