<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup apparatus promptly performing switching of a plurality of information recording surfaces to an optical information recording medium having the information recording surfaces even though the optical pickup apparatus has a simple construction. <P>SOLUTION: A time lag from the suspension of focusing control using luminous flux of a first semiconductor laser LD1 (or a second semiconductor laser LD2) to the start of focusing control using luminous flux of the second semiconductor laser LD2 (or the first semiconductor laser LD1), is made short as much as possible (preferably zero) by performing switching of the information recording surfaces according to a prescribed timing chart. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
