<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation plate having improved haze value formed with a coating layer containing an organic modified clay complex, and to provide a combined polarizing plate that uses the retardation plate and a liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: The retardation plate is obtained by forming a composition, in a film shape, containing an organic modified clay complex and an aliphatic diisocyanate-based urethane resin in a former to latter weight ratio exceeding 2 and less than 5. The retardation plate is stacked on a polarizing plate through an adhesive layer to provide the combined polarizing plate. At this time, a combined polarizing plate 10 is advantageously obtained by preparing a polarizing plate 11 with an adhesive layer 12, forming a retardation plate 15 comprising a coating layer of the above composition on a transfer substrate 20, stacking an exposed surface of the retardation plate 15 on the adhesive layer 12 of the polarizing plate and stripping the transfer substrate 20.
