摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method being not necessary to control oxygen concentration for producing a carbonaceous material containing an iron-carbon composite which comprises a carbon tube (a) selected among a nanoflake carbon tube and a multi-layered carbon nanotube with an insert structure, and (b) iron carbide or iron which fills in 10-90% of a space of the carbon tube and to provide the iron-carbon composite obtained by the method and an electron emitting material containing the iron-carbon composite. <P>SOLUTION: (1) An iron complex and an iron halide are reacted beforehand in vacuum or in an insert gas atmosphere in a reaction furnace. (2) The carbonaceous material containing the iron-carbon composite is produced by reacting a pyrolizable carbon source introduced into the reaction furnace with a reaction product obtained at the step (1).
