PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconductive cable with a further small cable outer diameter, and a direct current feeding method using the superconductive cable. SOLUTION: The superconductive cable 1 is formed by twisting two cable cores 2 formed of superconductive materials and each including a superconductive conductor layer 4 and an external superconductive layer 6, and housing them in a heat insulating tube 8. Each cable core 2 includes, in order from the center, a former 3, the superconductive conductor layer 4, an insulating layer 5, the external superconductive layer 6, and a protective layer 7. In unipolar feeding, unipolar current is carried to the superconductive conductor layers 4 of both the cores 2 as an outgoing line, and return current is carried to the external superconductive layers 6 of both the cores 2 as a returning line. In dipolar feeding, the superconductive conductor layer 4 of one core 2 is used for positive pole feeding, the superconductive conductor layer 4 of the other core 2 is used for negative pole feeding, and the external superconductive layers 6 of both the cores 2 are used as a neutral conductor layer.
