PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the rush current of a transformer by adding a small and inexpensive device. SOLUTION: When the voltage between the lines of AB phases of the transformer is at a maximum, breakers of the AB phases are closed; and, when the C phase voltage is at a maximum, a breaker of the C phase is closed. The breakers of the three phases have two closing coils. For lessening variations in closing time, elements related to the closing time are measured and controlled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
