<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inflator constituted so as to jet reaction gas generated by reaction of chemicals after it sufficiently mixes with gas in a storage chamber. <P>SOLUTION: Pressurized gas is filled in the gas storage chamber 8 of a vessel 2. When carrying an electric current to an electrode of an initiator 5, the initiator 5 generates high temperature gas, and the chemicals 4 generate a large quantity of gas when this high temperature gas contcts with the chemicals 4. A first sealing plate 6 is torn by this reaction gas pressure, and the reaction gas passes through nozzle holes 14 and 15 of a guide member 7, and flows in the gas storage chamber 8 while forming a swirling flow G. A second sealing plate 9 is torn when the gas pressure in the gas storage chamber 8 increases, and the gas jets passing through a gas jetting port 10 from a leading hole 12. An airbag rapidly inflates by this gas. Since the reaction gas of the chemicals 4 forms the swirling flow G, the reaction gas and storage gas are sufficiently mixed and jetted from the jetting port 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
