PLASTICIZED VINYL POLYMER COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF

A polymer composition including at least one vinyl polymer (PVC) and at least one polylactone (poly-e-caprolactone), particularly for preparing flexible films or coatings, achieved by means of a method which comprises the steps of (a) mixing the vinyl polymer and at least one lactone monomer to give a paste, (b) adding a lactone monomer polymerization initiator to said paste and mixing same, and (c) heating the resulting paste to a temperature of more than 80 °C for at least 30 seconds to cause in situ polymerization of the lactone monomers to polylactones. A premix for preparing such a polymeric composition, as well as a method for coating the surface of a substrate, particularly a fabric, are also disclosed.
