PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronizer for a transmission capable of preventing generation of load in two-stage connection caused by relative rotation of a synchronizing hub and a clutch gear when coupling spline teeth and clutch gear spline teeth are engaged with each other. SOLUTION: Along with a stroke of a coupling sleeve 3 spline-coupled to the synchronizing hub 2 movably in the axis direction, a first balk ring 6 is pressed, and synchronization is started by friction torque generating between a first balk ring cone face 6b and a first clutch gear cone face 7b. When the synchronization is terminated, the coupling spline teeth 3a pass first balk ring spline teeth 6a and are engaged with first clutch gear spline teeth 7a to complete the shift. The synchronizer for the transmission is provided with a relative rotation suppressing means for suppressing relative rotation between the synchronizing hub 2 and the first clutch gear 7 during a period when the state where the coupling spline teeth 3a are engaged with the first balk ring spline teeth 6a is switched to the state where the coupling spline teeth 3a pass the first balk ring spline teeth 6a and are engaged with the first clutch gear spline teeth 7a.
