PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of carrying out image forming motion under a process condition most suitable for a recording medium without troubling a user. SOLUTION: This device is furnished with a means to judge thickness and a kind of the recording medium in accordance with the number of the recording medium counted during the time when a lifter 150 rises until a lift-up detection sensor 152 comes to be unable to detect the recording medium.
