PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging apparatus capable of packaging object articles having an easily-tumbling shape and thickness by nearly vertically stacking the object articles and packaging the stacked articles in a lump. SOLUTION: When the articles B are placed on the first placement face 95, the bottom end side opening of a synthetic resin tubular film f whose top end side is sealed is held by a pulling down device 50 to be pulled down toward the lower side of the face 95 from the upper side of the articles B to cover the outer face of the articles B thoroughly with the film f. The second placement faces 81, 81 are moved forward and raised relative to the face 95 for narrowing down the film f along the bottom face of the articles B and the articles B are moved to the faces 81, 81 from the face 95.
