PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing aqueous dispersion capable of realizing both of a high OD value of a printed material and a high ejection stability jointly on printing by using it as an ink.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the aqueous pigment dispersion is characterized by preparing the pigment dispersion of a surface-modified type pigment by surface-treating highly structured pigment stock powder and dispersion-treating with water and at least deaeration-treating the pigment dispersion.
