<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple wavelength transmitting device which eliminates the need of mounting beforehand an unneeded band-distributed compensating means for different wavelength bands at the time of an initial service start only with a single wavelength band and whose initial equipment cost is inexpensive because of a simpler configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A multiple wavelength part 5 is provided with a monitor light output terminal for branching and outputting a multiple wavelength signal, and an optical switch without short break 80 is provided between a band-distributed compensating means 20 and a band multiplexing part 30. The optical switch without short break 80 is switched to the monitor light output terminal side to set an alternative path for dummy light 50 between the multiple wavelength part 5 and the band multiplexing part 30. The band-distributed compensating means 20 is mounted in the alternative path. The optical switch without short break is switched to the band-distributed compensating means side to thereby mount the band-distributed compensating means without short break. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
