PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human body detector capable of correcting luminous energy, without affecting a secular change of a light emitting element. SOLUTION: This human body detector provided with a one-dimensional position detecting element for converging reflected light from a detected object by a photoreception lens to be received, and a distance computing means for computing a distance up to the detected object, based on a current ratio detected from longitudinal-directional both ends of the one-dimensional position detecting element, has a total current quantity detecting means for measuring a total current quantity detected from the both ends of the one-dimensional position detecting element, a temperature detecting means for detecting a peripheral temperature of the light emitting element, and a driving current setting means for making a driving current quantity of the light emitting element variable, and the driving current setting means makes the driving current quantity of the light emitting element variable, referring to outputs from the distance computing means, the total current quantity detecting means and the temperature detecting means.
