PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a triangular polygon data capable of realizing natural three-dimensional display by dividing a directional polygon having directivity such as a road and a river. SOLUTION: The directional polygon data are expressed by two sequences of points A1 to A6, B1 to B5 respectively having start points and end points. Positional coordinates and altitude data are provided to each sequence of points. A polygon data generation device normalizes the sequence of points by its total length and one-dimensionally arrays the sequence of points in normalized space of 0 to 1. A divided line whose length is minimum in the normalized space is preferentially used to generate a triangular polygon like divided lines B1-A2, B1-A3. In the division method, generation of a distorted shape or a triangular polygon having a large bank angle can be suppressed and natural three-dimensional display can be realized.
