An endoscope system (1), comprising an endoscope (2) having an endoscope insert part with a first soft part (6a) having a tip portion inserted into a subject and a base portion with a portion held by an operator and disposed at the tip side and a second soft part (6b) continuously connected to the base end of the first soft part and having a portion with an outside diameter dimension larger than that of the portion of the first soft part having a maximum outer diameter dimension, and an insert support device (20) for endoscope in which the inner diameter dimension of the tip opening part of an insert hole (20a) for inserting the endoscope insert part therein is roughly the same as the outer diameter dimension of the second soft part.
