FIELD: organic chemistry, in particular improved method for production of alkylene glycol useful in antifreeze compositions, as solvent and starting material for production of polyalkylene terephthalate. ^ SUBSTANCE: starting mixture containing corresponding alkylene oxide and water is fed into reactor through at least one inlet, wherein reactor contains fixed bed of solid catalyst based on anion exchange resin.
