PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase bearing pressure of a mating surface between bores and to improve sealing performance at the mating surface between adjoining cylinders by increasing stiffness of a cylinder head positioned between the cylinder bores. SOLUTION: In a reinforcement structure for an engine E fastening the cylinder head 4 and a cylinder block 2 by bolts, a rib (reinforcement part) 13 formed to project upward in a cylinder head height direction Z is provided on a lower wall part 9 of a cylinder head 4 positioned between the bores of the cylinder block 2.
