<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase channel capacity while enhancing transmission quality under constraint of cost without changing the configuration significantly in a mobile terminal accessing a mobile communication system where wireless zones are formed individually by a plurality of wireless base stations. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal being used in a mobile communication system where a plurality of wireless zones are formed by a plurality of wireless base stations comprises a means for measuring propagation loss in down link by using a pilot signal being transmitted from each wireless base station, and a means for comparing transmission power between a pilot signal corresponding to minimum propagation loss and a pilot signal having difference of propagation loss from minimum propagation loss within a predetermined range when the measured difference between the minimum propagation loss and the second largest propagation loss is not larger than a predetermined level and selecting a wireless base station transmitting a pilot signal with a minimum transmission power as a wireless base station to be called or handed over. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
