<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewage treatment system constituted so as to supply compressed air for aeration used in an aeration tank at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The sewage treatment system is equipped with sewage treatment facilities 1 having the aeration tank 7 to separate sewage sludge 10, a gasifying furnace 13 for introducing the sewage sludge 10 separated in the sewage treatment facilities 1 to gasify the same to form a combustible gas 13c and a gas turbine device 18 for rotating a compressor 17 by an expansion turbine 16 driven by the gas 20a obtained by burning the combustible gas 13c of the gasifying furnace 13 to form compressed air 21a.
