摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active threo-β-alkyltryptophan derivative by which it can industrially suitably be mass-produced. SOLUTION: This method for producing the optically active compound expressed by formula (I) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>are the same or different and are each a lower alkyl which may be substituted; R<SP>3</SP>is H, a lower alkyl which may be substituted, an acyl, carboxy which may be esterified or amidated, sulfonyl which may be esterified or amidated or silyl which may be substituted; and R<SP>4</SP>, R<SP>5</SP>are the same or different and are each H or a lower alkyl which may be substituted] or its salt is characterized by performing the reaction of a mixture of 2 kinds of optically active compounds or their salts with an optically active compound expressed by formula (II) [wherein, R<SP>6</SP>is an acyl].
