PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment method for an aluminum material where, in an aluminum material whose surface has been subjected to porous anodization treatment, the discharge of gas can be remarkably reduced. SOLUTION: A fluoride layer 3 is formed on a porous anodized coating 2 formed on the surface of an aluminum material 1, thus the fluoride layer 3 covers the pores in the porous anodized coating and clogs the pores.
