摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved high-yield [<SP>18</SP>F] fluoride system (100) in the manufacture of radioactive nuclides. SOLUTION: An [<SP>18</SP>F] fluorine gas is manufactured from an [<SP>18</SP>O] oxygen by filling a target volume (120) with an [<SP>18</SP>O] oxygen gas, irradiating the target volume (120) with a proton beam, removing the [<SP>18</SP>O] oxygen gas from the target volume and filling it with a washout gas mixture (150) including helium in the next process and then irradiating the target volume including the washout gas mixture with the proton beam. It is preferable that the washout gas mixture includes a mixture of helium and fluorine to which argon is added and the quantity of the helium in the washout gas mixture ranges from 3.1 to 31 atom percent. The much higher yield and specific radioactivity, or the ratio of nonradioactive fluorine to [<SP>18</SP>F] F<SB>2</SB>radioactive fluorine, can be obtained than the ratio obtained previously by using conventional technology.
