PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engaging member from being detached from a wheelchair even in the case that not only force in front and back directions but also upward force is applied to the wheelchair. SOLUTION: A wheelchair fixing device for a vehicle is used for fixing the wheelchair 1 mounted on the vehicle at a prescribed position inside the vehicle and is provided with the engaging member 20 movable between a storage position where the device does not obstruct the movement in the front and back directions of the wheelchair 1 and an operation position where the device is engaged with the wheelchair and regulates the upward and forward/backward movement of the wheelchair and a driving mechanism 11 for moving the engaging member 20 between the storage position and the operation position. Thus, by engaging the engaging member 20 with the wheelchair 1, the upward and forward/backward movement of the wheelchair 1 is regulated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
