PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator for improving return performance of refrigerating machine oil to a compressor. SOLUTION: The compressor 12 is arranged in a top surface part or a back face upper part of a refrigerator body 1. Since a flow speed in a pipe increases and solubility of a refrigerant in the refrigerating machine oil increases by having a refrigerating cycle 18 using mineral oil as the refrigerating machine oil with a hydrocarbon as the refrigerant, a return quantity of the refrigerating machine oil to the compressor 12 from an evaporator 9 can be increased. A danger such as damage to the compressor 12 by a shortage of the refrigerating machine oil in the compressor 12, can be further reduced by restraining a refrigerant quantity delivered in the refrigerating cycle 18 from the compressor 12.
