摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing deterioration of a surface of a photoreceptor due to short range discharge in the image forming apparatus adapting an electrifying method by the short range discharge.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided in which a surface of a body to be electrified 1 is continuously and uniformly coated with necessary quantity of protective substance in a discharge range in a specified electrifying condition during repetition of an image forming process. A coating means consists of a pre-coating means and the coating means, the protective substance is coated on the coating means through the pre-coating means and element percentage [%] of the protective substance existing on the surface of the body to be electrified 1 in the discharge range is ≥ 6.23×10-3×(Vpp-2×Vth)×f/v[%] with the measurement by XPS.
