PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a slack value to a gate on a data path at high speed. SOLUTION: The slack value setting apparatus is provided with: a worst path selecting part 12; a first slack value calculating part 13 for calculating a slack value to be set to each passage pin on the worst path; a first slack value setting part 15 for setting the slack value calculated by the first calculating part 13 to each passage pin on the worst path; a worst path branching pin table creating part 16; a second slack value calculating part 13 for calculating a slack value to be set to each passage pin on another path; and a second slack value setting part 15 for setting the slack value calculated by the second slack value calculating part 13 to each passage pin on another path by tracing back another path from a branching pin stored in the worst path branching pin table on the basis of the worst path branching pin table.
