PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device and a method of recording onto its optical disk which are capable of arbitrarily changing an output scheme of video data on the basis of the video data attributes. SOLUTION: The video data are stored in a file in the video title set (VTS) 72 of an optical disk 10. Video title set information (VTSI) 94 for managing the video title set (VTS) 72 is written in this video title set (VTS) 72. The information (VTSI) 94 is provided with a table (VTSI<SB>-</SB>MAT) 98 for managing the information 94. The attributes peculiar to the video data (VTS<SB>-</SB>V<SB>-</SB>ATR) stored in the title set (VTS) 72 are written in this table (VTSI<SB>-</SB>MAT) 98.
