<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a player to enjoy a game by a method for inputting with drawing feeling. <P>SOLUTION: A player inputs hand-written information via a hand-written information input device 2. The inputted information is compared with image information of virtual items stored in an item table 18 and at least one virtual item in the item table 18 is recognized. Based on the recognized virtual item, a game content is operated according to a game program 16 and the operation result is displayed as an image in a display device 1. Hand written information as it is not used as image information, but the virtual item is recognized based on the hand written information and a game is progressed using the virtual item.
