PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image I/O device which can detect three-dimensional information on a photographic subject based on the image data on the photographic subject obtained by photographing and can automatically output related information such as the name of the photographic subject. SOLUTION: On the basis of the three-dimensional information on the photographic subject, related information related to the photographic subject is retrieved from a database stored in a server 102 or the like, and the retrieved information is projected, so that a user can automatically acquire the related information on the photographic subject. In addition, on the basis of the three-dimensional information on the photographic subject, an object image excluding the background of a face on which the photographic subject is placed or the like is extracted, and related information is retrieved based on the object image, so that in comparison with a case wherein the related information is retrieved based on data without incorporating depth information, retrieval of the related information about the photographic subject can be executed with high precision.
